After the sudden death of her son-in-law, Chon, a sexagenarian from the neighborhood, discovers the drug trafficking business he was running. An imminent eviction order precipitates her to take over the business and confront the law and organized crime. Chon will settle into her role as a drug queen and end up becoming Asuncion: a feared drug trafficker who enjoys the feeling of finally feeling truly alive.
