Italy
Season 1
Chapter 1 – 56 minutes
1978, Italy is torn by war: the first Communist party (PCI) backed government in the history of a Western country is about to come to power through a historic alliance with the nation’s traditional bastion of conservatism, the Christian Democracy (DC). Aldo Moro, president of the DC, is the main supporter of this agreement. On the very day of the inauguration ceremony of this new governmental formation, March 6, 1978, Aldo Moro was kidnapped during an ambush. Their retention will last fifty-five days: fifty-five days of hope, of fears, of negotiation, of failures, of good intentions and of terrible deeds. Fifty-five days that will end with the discovery of his corpse in the trunk of a car in Rome, halfway between the headquarters of the DC and the PCI.
