South culminates its industry program aimed at industry professionals with a great reception and a multiplicity of experiences shared by top-level experts
The third day of Industrias South began with a landmeet with the directors of the Malaga, Seville and Almeria festivals-Juan Antonio Vigar, Manuel Cristobal and Enrique Iznaol-, who have been talking about the incorporation of the series to the programming of their festivals. With the previous presentation of Piluca Querol, director of the Andalucía Film Commission, the directors of the festivals have agreed on the following main idea:
“The important thing for a festival should be the quality of its projects, regardless of whether they are films or series, the goal is to enhance the audiovisual sector.”
“South allows series teams to find here a necessary space for the promotion of these projects.”
The Industry Talks of the day focused on series made in France and their international scope in co-production and sales, with Nathalie Perus (Atlantique Productions) and Bouchra Réjani (founder & CEO LadyNoor Pictures) and on the promotion of European co-productions of series, with Camilo Vázquez (deputy director of promotion and international relations ICAA) and Fabia Buenaventura (general director PATE Representative Spain Film Commission). The first keynote was given by Europa Creativa Media, an informative talk on the various opportunities that the MEDIA program of the European Union offers to support projects in the audiovisual sector, with Victoria Fernandez (head of Media Office Andalusia). “How AI can be used to improve the business model of TV series” has been the central theme of the second keynote, a presentation that has exposed the latest trends in the audiovisual market, focusing on the arrival of new methods that use artificial intelligence to improve the monetization of TV series. Rémi Tereszkiewicz, expert in OTT services and TV series marketing, was in charge of leading this presentation.
