Meet the professionals who will participate in the second edition of South International Series Festival
Esteban Calle

Professional specialist in marketing, communication, promotion and sales of content in the entertainment industry with more than 35 years of experience, he is currently deputy director of marketing at RTVE.

His main task is the creation of launch campaigns and monitoring of the different programs and fictions as well as the marketing of RTVE’s cinema channel.

 

Marta Velasco

Marta Velasco is producer and founding partner of Áralan Films, which was founded in 2004 with the aim of developing projects on universal concepts, with a clear cultural interest and a strong commercial vocation. Currently, the feature film ‘Rita’, Paz Vega’s debut film as writer and director, which has participated in the 77th edition of the Locarno International Film Festival and will soon be shown at the 24th edition of the Valladolid International Film Week SEMINCI, is awaiting its premiere. His latest feature film released in theaters, ‘Segundo Premio’ directed by Isaki Lacuesta and Pol Rodríguez, won the Golden Biznaga at the 27th edition of the Malaga Film Festival and is considered by some critics as the best film of the year 2024. His filmography also includes titles such as ‘Como Dios Manda’, ‘Empieza el Baile’, ‘La maniobra de la Tortuga’, ‘Cuando los ángeles duermen’, ‘Quién te cantará’, ‘Asesinos inocentes’ or ‘Los Niños Salvajes’ among others.

 

Juan Tomas Tello

Linked to music for as long as I can remember. Professionally I have developed my career in the recording industry, going through different positions: radio promotion, project manager, a&r and artistic director in Chrysalis, Emi and Virgin respectively, with artists such as Antonio Vega, Amaral, Los Delincuentes, Dover, Luz Casal, Enrique Morente, among others.
In Globomedia I learned the job of music supervisor for series and fiction films, performing this job in “Vis a Vis”, “El Barco”, “Los Hombres de Paco”, “Estoy Vivo”, “Byb”, “Kamikaze”, “Tres Metros Sobre el Cielo”, “Fuga de Cerebros I y II”, “Tengo Ganas de Ti”, among others. I currently attend panels at international congresses sharing my experience and I combine teaching at ECAM, UNIR, SAE… with my work as Music Supervisor in “El Embarcadero”, “Por H o Por B”, “Nasdrovia”, “Sky Rojo”, “Entrevias”, “Now & Then”, “Nacho”, “Los Farad”, “Berlin”, “Land Of Woman”, “Cómo Cazar a un Monstruo” or “La Casa de Papel / Money Heist” among others.

 

Isabel Royán

Composer, orchestrator and sound artist, Isabel Royán holds a degree in Musical Composition (Conservatorio Superior de Música de Málaga), a Master’s degree in Composition for Audiovisuals and Video Games (Katarina Gurska Center), a Master’s degree in Musical Heritage/Ethnomusicology and Flamenco (Universidad Internacional de Andalucía) and has completed specialized training in film composition at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program (Seattle Film Institute, Washington). She is also a classically trained pianist and has a degree in Journalism. She has received nominations for the Carmen Awards 2023 in the category of Best Original Score for her soundtrack for Alimañas, as well as for the Berlanga Awards 2023 for her music for the film Olvido, by Inés París. That same year, her music for the film Emilio Prados, cazador de nubes received a nomination for the Premios de la Música para el Audiovisual Español, and in 2022 her soundtrack for Princesa was nominated at Ibicine. She has been nominated for the FIMUCINEMA 2021 awards in the categories of Best Music for Documentary for Paraíso en llamas, nominated for the Goya 2021 awards, and Best Music for Short Film for La pequeña Leona. The same year she was also nominated for Best Soundtrack for her work for El Secreto de Lucía at the Actrum Awards. Her music has also received several nominations at the Jerry Goldsmith Awards 2017 for El glóbulo de Bok (Best Original Composition) and for La Verónica (Best Soundtrack for Short Film). He has also received a nomination at the PlayStation Talents Awards for his work in the video game Night and Day and in 2016 for Best Soundtrack for Video Game at the Jerry GoldSmith Awards 2016 for the music of Paula, from Ikigai Play. He has also won along with NoOBo Games the only prize awarded by the AEVI in the Idea Game Jam 2019. He is currently working on the composition of soundtracks for films, video games, scenic, new AV formats and concert music, being one of his latest works the commission of the National Center for Musical Diffusion of his work El vientre del fuego.

 

Beatriz Campos

MD/producer

Beatriz Campos started her career at ITV Global Entertainment in 2007 where she spent 5 years managing finished and format sales for Spain, Portugal, and The Middle East. In 2012 Campos moved to Shine International handling finished and format sales for a handful of territories inc. Iberia, Italy, MENA, Greece, Turkey & Israel also responsible for the sale of big commercial brands inc. BROADCHURCH, MASTERCHEF and BIGGEST LOSER. In 2015 the merger between Shine and Endemol resulted in Campos being appointed as Sales Director. In 2016, Campos joined the STUDIOCANAL family as VP Sales followed by a promotion to Head of Global Sales for TV Series in 2017. In 2019, Campos was appointed to SVP Global Sales and Production Financing, responsible for supporting STUDIOCANAL’s wealth of in-house production companies across Europe, as well as driving the sales and production financing for their growing roster of TV productions, such as Daytime Emmy® Award winning animated series THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON seasons 1, 2 and 3. Within her role she has been responsible for setting up the financing of Marc Levy’s TV series adaptation of the novel ALL THOSE THINGS WE NEVER SAID. Other production financing highlights include two long running series for RTVE in Spain, produced by Bambu: the International Emmy nominated TWO LIVES (Dos Vidas) and THE VOW (La Promesa), as well as Urban Myth Films’ production WAR OF THE WORLDS season 2 and season 3 for CANAL +, MGM+ and Disney. On the scripted format front, she drove the sale for the Mexican adaptation EL COLAPSO for the US Hispanic platform VIX, based on the French CANAL + original series L’Effondrement, both versions distributed by STUDIOCANAL. During her position at STUDIOCANAL , the distribution team has won the Broadcast Award for Best International Sales on two occasions for THE LAST PANTHERS and YEARS AND YEARS. In March 2024, Campos is named as Managing director of Anonymous Content España overseeing the company’s daily operations of the newly created JV between Anonymous Content and Morena Films, one of the most established production companies in Spain.

 

Alejandro Florez

General Manager of 100 Balas

Degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad Europea de Madrid. Master in Audiovisual Business Management from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid and Master in Television from the Universidad Complutense. He began his professional career in the R&D department of Telemadrid. In 2001, he moved to Telemadrid as assistant to the head of purchasing at the same channel, becoming head of purchasing three years later. In 2005 he arrived at Cuatro as Head of Programming for Outside Production. In 2010 he started at NBC as Director of Programming and Acquisitions for the channels Calle 13 and Syfy in Spain and Portugal. He has worked for laSexta as Director of Acquisitions and Outside Production, contributing to the launch of laSexta3 and Xplora. Later he was Director of Television at Televisión Española and Content Director at Discovery Spain and Portugal. He currently directs the production company 100 Balas, part of the Mediapro group. His fiction productions include the Vota Juan trilogy, the Prime Video series “Romancero” and “Su Majestad” and the series “Celeste” for Movistar. In the non-fiction area, he has produced successful docuseries such as “El Palmar de Troya”, “Lola”, “Matar al Presidente” and “Lina”. Professor at UC3M, Instituto de Empresa, Instituto de RTVE and ECAM. General Manager of 100 Balas.

 

Anna Saura

Anna Saura studied a double degree in Journalism and Advertising at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria. She began her professional career in the production department of Teatro Español in 2013 at the Fringe13 festival. Parallel to her university studies she worked in the marketing department of PRISA in 2016 and in the middle of this year she started as a producer in the British branded content production company Villa Lunera LTD where she produced the documentary “HOPE” (2016) and numerous campaigns for large companies such as Santander, Leroy Merlin, etc… In 2017 she joined PIPA Films as director of development where she produced the documentary “11M” (Netflix, 2021) and carried out executive production of El rey de todo el mundo (Carlos Saura,2021). In September 2019 he starts his activity as a teacher in the Audiovisual Communication degree at UFV where he continues. Since 2015 she manages and develops all the artistic projects of filmmaker Carlos Saura. In 2020 she joins Morena Films where she develops production tasks until mid 2023 and produces the series “Diarios de la Cuarentena” (TVE), “Relatos Con-fin-a-dos” (Prime Video) and “Cuidado con lo que deseas”(Fernando Colomo, 2021). Since 2022 she was responsible for the documentary area of this prestigious production company, from which she produced “Tequila.Sexo, drogas y rock&roll” (Alvaro Longoria, 2022), and “La vida de Brianeitor” (Alvaro Longoria, 2023). In parallel, in 2020 he founded ATRECE CREACIONES where he produces “Rosa Rosae”, “Soy cloe. Existo” and “Cuentas Divinas” a fiction short film that is nominated for the Goya Awards 2024 after winning more than 30 national and international awards. Since 2024 she is the coordinator of the master’s degree in project development and management of audiovisual companies at ECAM.

 

Piluca Querol

Director of the Andalucía Film Commission, she has served on the Board of Directors of the European Film Commission Network and the Spain Film Commission and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Academia de Cine de Andalucía.

She has been technical director of the Seville European Film Festival for five years. Show coordinator at Port Aventura for three years working with the companies of artists and dancers from Mexico, China and Polynesia, as well as with the team of Els Comediants. During the 1992 Expo held in Seville, he was assistant director of Descubriteca belonging to the State Society and assistant show producer of the Lake belonging to the CAE (Centro de Apoyo al Espectáculo).

Accredited as a film commissioner by the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) and training internship at the Comisión Filmica de México in 1999.

He has worked on projects and shoots, including the following: The Crown, Assassin’s Creed, Game of Thrones T5; The Rythm Section by Reed Morano; Exodus: Gods and Kings by Ridley Scott; Memories of the Alhambra by Ahn Gil-Ho, Toro by Kike Maillo; Alatriste by Agustín Díaz Yanes; The Kingdom of Heaven by Ridley Scott; StarWars: Episode II. Attack of the clones by George Lucas; Talk to Her by Pedro Almodóvar; James Bond: Die Another Day by Lee Tamahori or Carmen by Vicente Aranda.

He has given conferences and seminars in different forums, markets and festivals in Spain and in different countries: Argentina, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, USA, Italy, England and Germany.

She is co-author, together with Carlos Rosado, of the book Cine y Turismo: Una nueva estrategia de promoción (2006). Translated into English, presented at the Marché du Film in Cannes. Two editions.

She has collaborated in different international publications (Variety, Screen International, Kemps, The Hollywood Reporter, AFCI News Releases and in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain, Editorial Coordinator of the I Andalusian Audiovisual Guide, Film and Television Production (2002), I Production Guide of Spain FC, ICEX, EGEDA and FAPAE (2003), Manual of Good Filming Practices, AFC 2005/2010 and the Rutas de cine: Alatriste, El camino de los ingleses, El corazón de la tierra, Entrelobos, Isla Mínima, Sergio Leone Trilogy. He has participated in the organization of Andalucía Film Commission’s attendance to the main international film festivals: Berlinale, Marche du Film Cannes, American Film Market, San Sebastian International Film Festival, Focus London, Ischia Film Festival.

He has participated as a jury member in many festivals and in project selection committees of the Diputación de Málaga in three editions and with Filmand in the Mallorca Talents Lab, Atlantida 2020.

As director, the Andalucía Film Commission has received the following national and international distinctions for its work in promoting Andalusia.

Al de Azpiazu

Al De Azpiazu is Senior Vice President of Distribution & Co-productions at Fremantle International, with responsibilities for France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
He joined Fremantle in 2016 after six years at Warner Bros.
International Television, where he had responsibilities for program distribution and format licensing in Europe and Latin America.
He previously worked at Mediapro, Cadena SER and Televisió de Catalunya, where he performed production tasks.
He has a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Barcelona; he has completed the MEGA postgraduate degree from the Media Business School and training programs from Bertelsmann University at the INSEAD business school.
He is fluent in English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Catalan and collaborates as a lecturer in the master’s programs of the National Film & Television School in the United Kingdom.  

Ana Torrent

Ana Torrent started in the world of cinema at the age of seven with Víctor Erice in El espíritu de la colmena -for which she won the Fotogramas de Plata for Best Actress-. Thirty years later, she has worked with him again in the film Cerrar los ojos, which had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, and earned her nominations for Best Supporting Actress at the Goya, Forqué and Feroz Awards, and won the Fotogramas de Plata and the CEC Medal for Best Supporting Actress. She has worked with Carlos Saura in the films Cría Cuervos, winner of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival; and Elisa Vida Mia, which also triumphed at Cannes as Special Jury Prize. In 1980 she shot El nido, with Jaime de Armiñan, a film nominated for an Oscar and for which she was awarded Best Actress at the Montreal Festival and the New York Critics Awards. Encouraged by Erice to continue her acting career, Ana attended Cristina Rota’s classes, combining it with a degree in Geography and History. Years later, after winning a scholarship, she went to study cinematography in New York. She also studied acting for four years with Uta Hagen at the Manhattan Theater School HB Studios and was in contact with the “Alexander Technique” method. Since then, Ana lives between Madrid and New York.

She has participated in national projects such as Sobre todo de noche, directed by Víctor Iriarte; Nieva en Benidorm, by Isabel Coixet; Verónica, directed by Paco Plaza; Tesis, by Alejandro Amenábar, for which she was nominated for a Goya in the category of Best Actress in a Leading Role; Vacas, by Julio Medem; Yoyes, by Helena Taberna; or No-Do, by Elio Quiroga- as well as international -Therebe dragons, by Roland Joffé; The Other Boleyn Girl, directed by Justin Chadwick; or in the series of British films by Peter Greenaway: The Tulse Luper Suitcases II and III-.
He has also starred in Raúl Herrera’s short film Plein Air.
He recently filmed Raíces in Puerto Rico, directed by Gustavo Ramos.

In television she started in the series Anillos de oro, directed by Pedro Masó, followed by El jardín de Venus by José María Forqué and Segunda enseñanza, also by Masó.
He has participated in international series such as Hemingway, by Bernhard Sinkel, La Piovra, for RAI in Italy, and Kinsey, for the BBC.
His most recent works are Bosé, directed by Mikel Rueda for SkyShowtime and Mano de hierro, by Lluís Quílez for Netflix.
Recently, he has recorded Furia, Félix Sabroso’s latest series for Max.
In theater, his latest plays include Muero por que no muero, by Paco Bezerra and directed by Matías Umpiérrez. Las Criadas, directed by Luis Luque; Todas las noches de un día, by Alberto Conejero; or Imperio, by Matías Umpiérrez.

She has also starred in Gustave Flaubert’s Madame Bovary, directed by Magüi Mira, and William Shakespeare’s Richard III, directed by Carlos Martín.

Angeles González Sinde

Angeles González-Sinde is a screenwriter and film and television director. She won a Goya Award for best screenplay for “La buena estrella” and another for best new director for “La suerte dormida”. She has also directed the feature films “El comensal” (2022), adapted from the novel of the same name by Gabriela Ybarra; “Una palabra tuya” (2008), adapted from the novel by Elvira Lindo; “A mí quién me cuida” (2006) for Canal Sur and TV3; “La suerte dormida” (2004). She is currently preparing “Después de Kim”, to be shot in 2025. Her latest work as a director is the documentary “La conquista de la democracia”, which RTVE will premiere in 2025.
She is the screenwriter of several feature films, such as “Tierra baja” by Miguel Santesmases; “Todos estamos invitados” and “La vida que te espera” by Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón; “Mentiras y gordas” and “Entre vivir y soñar” by Menkes and Albacete; “Los aires difíciles, Heroína, El misterio de Galíndez, Las razones de mis amigos by Gerardo Herrero; Segunda piel by Gerardo Vera; La puta y la ballena by Luis Puenzo; Antigua vida mía by Héctor Olivera; 7 minutos by Daniela Fejerman; Otra ciudad by Silvia Quer.

She has been awarded the Cartelera Turia Prize, the Best Film Prize at the Nantes Spanish Film Festival, the Mestre Mateo Prize at the Galician Film Academy, the Best Screenplay Prize at the Malaga Film Festival, the Silver Lighthouse at the L’Alfas del Pi Film Festival, the Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos Medal, among others.

A versatile writer, as a novelist she was a finalist for the Planeta Prize, winner of the Edebé Prize for Children’s Literature, and is also a playwright. Her work in television ranges from comedies to daily series (five seasons of “Amar es para siempre”) or primetime dramas (Bosé). She has a degree in Classics and an MFA from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.

 

Juan Parodi

With more than 30 years of experience in the audiovisual industry, Juan Parodi has played key roles in various areas of the media. He was Director of Programming for a major television network and Executive Director of Argentina’s public media, where he led key initiatives for the development and distribution of quality content.

Internationally, he worked at Sony Pictures International and FremantleMedia, overseeing productions of global scope and bringing his strategic vision to high-impact projects.

He then created his own production company, which has won major awards in the fiction and entertainment categories and established himself as an influential figure in the creation of audiovisual content.

 

Juliana Barrera

Cúcuta, Colombia.

Social communicator from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. With more than 25 years of experience in the audiovisual industry, she has been a creator, executive producer and showrunner of series for Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney +, Nickelodeon, Fox International Channels and Caracol TV. She was Creative Director of New Business for Caracol TV and Head of Content for The Mediapro Studio Colombia and Mexico. Since 2021 she is based in Spain, where she has worked as Director of Original Series for Netflix Spain and Executive Producer and International Development for the audiovisual group Izen.

 

Enrique Iznaola

Cultural manager and film critic. He is a member of the Spanish Film Academy, an institution that awarded him the González-Sinde Prize in 2012 for his work in the dissemination of cinema. In 2019 he received the ASECAN Award for his work in promoting cinema in Andalusia.

With more than thirty-five years of experience, he currently coordinates the Encuentros con el Cine Español and is the director of the Muestra de Cine Español Inédito en Jaén, organised by the Jaen Provincial Government, the short film competition Rodando por Jaén, the Miguel Picazo Film Campus in Cazorla, as well as the Conversations with Directors organised by the Fundación Unicaja in Almería, Málaga and Cádiz. In 2013 he created the Short Film Festival against Gender Violence, organised by the Jaén Provincial Government, which he directed for six years. Since 2015 he has been the director of the Almería International Film Festival.

He was part of the commission that created the Andalusian Film Academy, was a member of its first board of directors and is currently vice-president of the new board.

His directorial debut was the documentary Miguel Picazo, un cineasta extramuros, which was nominated for the Forqué Awards in 2017. He recently premiered the documentary Miradas del cine español at the Malaga Festival, sponsored by the Fundación Unicaja, of which he is co-director.

He has published the books Miguel Picazo, un cineasta jiennense, La Tía Tula, guión cinematográfico, Los hijos de Alvargonzález, guión cinematográfico inédito, Jimena (ASECAN Award 2015) and Rodajes en Jaén (ASECAN Award 2017).

He was president of the Association of Audiovisual Festivals of Andalusia between 2011 and 2014, re-elected between 2016 and 2018, and a member of the board of directors of ASECAN for six years.

 

Rémi Tereszkiewicz

Rémi Tereszkiewicz is an expert in OTT services and TV series marketing.
Having worked since 1994 as VP or SVP in sales and marketing positions for various companies such as Warner Brothers (2016), Lagardère Studios (2014), Netgem (2004) or Eurosport (1994), he led the creation and launch of numerous TV services.

Teresa Segura

Executive producer of Diffferent Entertainment SL, with more than twenty projects, written and directed by David Sainz. Highlights include the series Malviviendo (broadcast in four countries with more than 150 million views and more than forty national and international awards), the series El viaje de Peter McDowell and Flaman for RTVA, Power Wonders produced by El Terrat for TNT, the #littlesecretfilm for Calle 13 Obra 67, the series Entertainment and Buster for Flooxer (Atresmedia), the branded films El Colega Canario for Arehucas and Síndrome Valyrio for HBO España, the independent film Fogueo or the series Mambo and Grasa, the podcast Jirafas, the late night Parking Karaoke for Playz (RTVE) or the documentary Eterna. He is currently filming Sin fin, for Prime Video.

Pilar Crespo

Executive producer and founding producer of Magnétika Films. Her work as a producer includes Historias de leyenda (a co-production of 4 regional television channels: Canal Sur TV, TV3, TVG and ETB about four Spanish characters), La última toma, a feature documentary about the Andalusian director Claudio Guerin Hill premiered at the Seville Film Festival, the comedy La Boda (Ana Graciani), the documentary, and the RTVE series Operación Barrio Inglés. Among his latest documentaries are La residencia de señoritas (Juan Miguel del Castillo), Val del Omar, poeta audiovisual (Jesús Ponce), Juanito (Juan Miguel del Castillo). Crespo has been the only Spanish producer selected in the first edition of the Erich Pommer Institut’s Series’ Women.

Cristina Consuegra

Cristina Consuegra is a cultural manager and specialist in cultural innovation. Responsible for the expanded programming of Festival de Málaga (Málaga de Festival), and responsible for Neópolis, section on Science and Technology of Festival de Málaga. Artistic Director of the Festival de Cine Flamenco y Etnográfico de Jerez. Responsible for the audiovisual program Torremolinos Cinema specialized in LGTBIq+ topics. Coordinator of the ‘Anverso/Reverso’ Cycle of the Cervantes Theater. Programmer of the ‘Encounters with Authors’ of the Culture Area of the City Council. of Malaga. Coordinator of the cycle on contemporary thought ‘El MAE se mueve’ organized by the Museo Andaluz de la Educación. He collaborates with literary programs with the Diputación de Málaga. Coordinator of the series ‘Encuentros en la Ría’ organized by the Huelva City Council. Coordinator of the colloquiums of the Alicante Book Fair in the 2021 and 2022 editions. Vanesa de la Haza
Montse Garcia

Montse García is currently the Director of Fiction at Atresmedia TV, where she is in charge of highly successful national and international series such as ‘La Ruta’, ‘Alba’, ‘La Cocinera de Castamar’, ‘Entre Tierras’, ‘La Novia Gitana’ or ‘Cristo y Rey’, among others.

She joined Atresmedia TV in 2020, after holding the position of Executive Director at the production company Diagonal TV, from the Banijay Iberia Group. Throughout her career, she has specialized in television fiction, participating in the development and production of titles such as ‘La Señora’ (TVE), ‘Isabel’ (TVE), ‘Sin Identidad’ (Antena 3), ‘La Catedral del Mar’ (Antena 3) and ‘Matadero’ (Antena 3). She is also responsible for the delivery and continuity of the series ‘Love in Scrambled Times’ (TVE), renewing and adapting the Atresmedia format as ‘El amor es para siempre’. Jose Pastor

He has been coordinator of international relations for FAPAE, head of programming at the Warner group, director of programming and acquisitions at the Viacom group, producer of feature films and manager of the Film Academy.

Irene Lara

With a degree in Audiovisual Communication, Irene Lara has almost 30 years of experience in the audiovisual industry. Throughout her career at Atresmedia, she has worked in different departments, which has given her a global and strategic vision of the sector. Her work has been characterized by a constant focus on creativity, transversal strategy and innovation.

She currently heads the Content Marketing team, where she is responsible for the planning and implementation of promotional strategies for the premieres of Antena 3, laSexta and other channels in the group. Her experience has allowed her to work closely with players from all over the industry: media agencies, creative agencies, production companies and all the different departments of the Atresmedia Group, consolidating her ability to generate effective and impactful campaigns.

Alejandro Avila

Alejandro Ávila Villares is a film journalist. He is the director of FilmAnd, the Andalusian audiovisual magazine, and is a contributor to Cadena SER, in addition to managing the communication, press and social networks of film production companies, films, institutions and festivals.
DirCom of the Andalusian Film Academy and ANCINE (Andalusian Association of Film Production Companies), he is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA), the Andalusian Film Academy and AICE, the association that organizes the Feroz Awards.

The EFA selected him for its Sunday in the Country program as the Spanish representative in 2019.

Lawrence Silveira is the Director of Development and Operations at the Writers Guild Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting the history and craft of writing for the screen. While he primarily oversees the Foundation’s fundraising efforts, Lawrence also supports the Foundation’s domestic and international partnerships. Camilo Vazquez

He holds a degree in Law from the University of Salamanca, a Master’s degree in Public Management from the Carlos III University and a Master’s degree in International Politics from the University of Paris, and is a member of the Senior Corps of Civil State Administrators.

Among his most recent professional activities, in July 2012 he was appointed Counsellor for Education at the Permanent Representation of Spain to the European Union in Brussels, until July 2017, when he returned to Spain to become Deputy Director General for International Cooperation and Promotion of Culture at the Secretariat of State for Culture of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, later the Ministry of Culture and Sport, where he took over the national coordination of the European Year of Cultural Heritage in 2018 and the secretariat of the National Commission to Commemorate the V Centenary of the First Circumnavigation of the World by Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano. In June 2022 he joins the Spanish Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), where he is currently Deputy Director General for Promotion and International Relations.

 

Silvia Cotino

Degree in Business Administration from the University of Valencia and degree in Marketing from Aarhus Business School. Masters in Audiovisual Content Creation and Management from the European University and Masters in Communication, Protocol and PR from ESERP Business School. Since 2020, Deputy Director of Sales and Business Development at Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group.

My career began 23 years ago at Canal + Spain in various commercial areas of the Sogecable Group, starting in the international sales department of Produce + (documentary production company), then in the marketing department of Sogecine and Sogepaq (film production company) and finally in the diversification department of Cuatro. In 2011 I joined the commercial department of Mediaset España, in the area of international sales. In 2019, Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group was created, a company of the Mediaset España Audiovisual Group specialised in the production of exclusive content, the development of original projects and worldwide distribution, and I joined as Assistant Director of Sales and Business Development.

Fabia Buenaventura

With almost forty years of experience in the audiovisual sector, I have led teams at ICEX and SGAE, attracting filming and foreign investment and negotiating at an international level. My experience includes rights management, creating legal initiatives and promoting the industry at key events such as Cannes and Berlin. I have worked actively with international and national organizations, holding executive positions in European and Latin American associations and promoting the growth of the audiovisual sector in Spain.

Nathalie Perus

Nathalie Perus brings 20 years of experience in content, international co-productions, writing and producing in France and the US.
In February 2022, she is tapped by Mediawan to run their Paris based international co-productions outfit, Atlantique Productions, as general manager and producer.
She develops and produces global and pan-European series with multiple co-producing partners in Europe and the United States, and collaborates with renowned talent around the globe.
Based in New York from 2015 to 2021, she founded and chaired French in Motion, the organization that brings together French movie and TV professionals in the US, and created the transatlantic co-production program US&French Connection.
Over the past ten years, between Paris and New York, she has collaborated on numerous international and European series as scriptwriter and artistic producer, with Dynamic Television, Alef One, Son & Lumière and Europacorp TV, among others.

Jose Antonio Salso

Jose Antonio Salso holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Master in Audiovisual Business Management from the Carlos III University and teaches Distribution and Negotiation of Audiovisual Rights at the University of Nebrija and at The Core Entertainment Science School. He is currently Head of Acquisitions and International Sales at the Atresmedia Group.

Carlos de Pando

In 2003 he began working for Globomedia on series such as Casi Perfectos, 7 Vidas and Aída. In 2008 he joined the production company Notro TV, where he wrote the series Plan América and created the mini-series Karabudján. After coordinating the writing team for the series Herederos, he joined Bambú Producciones, where he coordinated the series Hispania and Imperium and wrote for Gran Hotel and Velvet. In 2015 he signed up for El Ministerio del Tiempo, for which he won the Ondas Award for best series and the Iris Award for best script. Today he is part of the team at Zeta Studios, where he has written his first feature film, El Silencio del Pantano; he has also created and written the series GARCÍA! and has been showrunner of the series El Vecino and Sin Huellas.

 

Carlos Chaguaceda

Carlos Chaguaceda Álvarez (1966) has a degree in Computer Science from the Complutense University. Journalist and communications and marketing expert. He began his career in 1986 at Expansión, where he worked for three years before moving to La Gaceta de los Negocios.

He worked for a year in a financial communications consultancy (Eurocofin) before joining Antena 3 as economics director. Three years later, he was appointed deputy director of news, and from 1998 to December 2000 he was Brussels correspondent. In 2001 he joined Telefónica Media as Director of Communications and in June 2002 he joined Coca-Cola, where he was Director of Corporate Communications and Spokesman until December 2013.

In 2010-13 he was President of the Coca-Cola Happiness Institute. In September 201 he was appointed Director General of Tourism for the Community of Madrid. At the end of 2017 he returned to Unesa (Unión Eléctrica Española) as Director of Communications.

Carlos Chaguaceda joined the Prado Museum as Head of Communications in June 2018, with the approval of the Standing Committee of the Royal Board of Trustees of the Museo del Prado and at the proposal of the Director of the Prado, Miguel Falomir,

He has published three books: “El parche del príncipe”, “El Mono Feliz” and “Tú puedes ser noticia”. In 2008 he won an EFI award for advertising effectiveness for a campaign for Bitter Rosso. He teaches communication, marketing and advertising.

Virginia Yagüe

Virginia Yagüe has an extensive professional career as a creator and scriptwriter of Spanish television series such as “La Señora”, “14 de Abril: La República”, “Amar en Tiempos Revueltos” (Golden TP Award for Best TV Series 2012, Ondas Award 2008 and Silver Medal for Best Drama Series at the New York Festival 2007), the TV movie “Prim, el asesinato de la Calle del Turco” (Silver Globe at the World Media Festival in Hamburg and Gold Medal for Best TV Movie at the NY International Film Festival 2015) and “Amar es Para Siempre” (Alma Awards for Best Daily Series 2019, 2022 and 2024). Her most recent work as a scriptwriter includes the miniseries “Invisible” for Diney+ and her participation in the series “Operación Barrio Inglés” and “Abogadas” for TVE.
In cinema, he won the Golden Biznaga at the 2012 Malaga Festival for the screenplay of the feature film “Els Nens Salvatges”, his third film after “Para que no me olvides” and his participation in the group films “En el mundo, a cada rato”, “Ellas son África” and “El tren de la libertad”. He is currently shooting the script for his latest feature film, “Nosotros”.

She is the current president of DAMA (Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de Medios Audiovisuales) and a member of the board of the Spanish Film Academy, specifically in the screenwriting section. She is a member of the Board of Patrons of the SAA (Society of Audiovisual Authors).

She combines her professional work with teaching master classes as an expert in narrative and screenwriting techniques in various film schools, universities and screenwriting laboratories, and has published several novels, including “El Marqués” (Temas de hoy) and “La última princesa del pacífico” (Planeta).

Julio Rojas

Julio Rojas, author, screenwriter and writer, is one of Chile’s most awarded screenwriters. He has worked as a creator, screenwriter, story editor and consultant on numerous TV series, feature films and audio series for platforms such as Amazon, Apple, Spotify and others. Julio Rojas has written more than a dozen feature films (including “La Vida de los Peces”, Goya Award for Best Foreign Film) and has worked on series such as “El Refugio” (Starz) and “Familia de Medianoche” (Apple TV+). Alicia Luna

Diego San José


Film and television scriptwriter specialising in comedy. He began his career writing for comedy programmes such as “Vaya Semanita”, “El Intermedio”, “Qué vida más triste” and “La noche de José Mota”.

In 2009 he made his first foray into cinema with Borja Cobeaga, with whom he wrote “Pagafantas”, winner of the Malaga Festival Award for Best New Screenplay. With Cobeaga he also wrote “No Controles” (2011) and the highest grossing film in history, “8 apellidos vascos” (2014), for which they wrote a sequel the following year, “8 apellidos catalanes” (2015). Alberto Caballero

Alberto Rodríguez Caballero (Madrid, August 21, 1973) is a Spanish director, screenwriter, and television producer. He is co-founder of Contubernio Films along with his sister Laura Caballero

He created the most popular shows in Spain in the past 20 years: Aquí no Hay Quien Viva (2003-2006) and its spin off La Que Se Avecina (2007-present). He is also the older brother of Laura Caballero, with whom he has created, directed and produced all of the series.

Carmen Páez Soria

Graduate in Law and Business Administration and Management (E3 programme) from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE), member of the Higher Corps of Civil Administrators of the Stat since 2012 and Undersecretary of State for Culture since 27 February 2024.

She began her career in the public sector at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, where she was Deputy Assistant Director of Intellectual Property and advisor to the entities managing intellectual property rights. In 2016, she took up the post of Deputy Assistant Director for International Relations and Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of the Interior, and subsequently became Head of the Support Unit of the Directorate General for International Relations of the same Ministry. In 2019, she returned to the Ministry of Culture and Sport, where she held the positions of Deputy Director General for Cooperation and International Promotion of Culture and Deputy Director General for the Promotion of Cultural Industries until October 2022, when she was appointed Secretary General of the EOI Foundation, F.S.P. (School of Industrial Organisation) of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.

She held the post of Director General for Cultural Industries, Intellectual Property and Cooperation until her appointment as Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture on 27 February 2024.

Shore’s work on “House” earned him several Emmy nominations for Producing and he won the Emmy Award for “Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series,” as well as the Humanitas Prize, Peabody Award, and Writers Guild of America Award.

Shore’s additional producer credits include “Sneaky Pete,” “Battle Creek,” “Hack,” “Family Law,” “Beggars and Choosers,” “Law & Order” and “Traders.” He was nominated for two Emmy Awards as a producer on “Law & Order” and was part of the writing team for the Emmy Award-winning first season of “The Practice.”

 

Eduardo Fernández Palomares

Law graduate and career civil servant in the Senior Civil Service of Spain. He is currently attached to the Permanent Representation of Spain to the European Union as Counsellor for Culture and Audiovisual Affairs. He has been Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Culture and Sport, Deputy Director-General for Cooperation and Competitiveness in Tourism at the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, Financial Director of Acción Cultural Española and Deputy Director-General for Music and Dance and Human Resources at the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

 

Elena Neira

Graduate in Law and Audiovisual Communication. Doctorate in Humanities and Communication with a thesis on measuring the success of audiovisual content on SVOD platforms. Niera is specialised in new audiovisual distribution models. Lecturer in Communication Studies at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. The impact of streaming platforms on the traditional audiovisual industry and the viewers is one of her main lines of research. She has given several lectures and talks, including a TED Talk on Netflix. Elena was selected by Forbes magazine as one of the 50 most influential women in the Spanish audiovisual industry. She is a regular contributor to Business Insider and El periódico. She is the author of several books and scietific papers. Her latest book is Streaming Wars: la nueva televisión (Libros Cúpula).

 

Gloria Saló

Expert in Audiovisual Formats and Markets, Creativity and Executive Production. She has been Director of International Markets and Communication, Head of Programmes, Head of New Projects, Content Director and Fiction Coordinator. She has participated and lectured at international events such as Iberseries, Conecta Fiction, Southseries MIP Cancun or Content Americas. She has worked in television channels such as Telecinco and audiovisual production companies. She holds a PhD “cum laude” in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University, teaches at professional masters and at the Francisco de Vitoria and Carlos III universities in Madrid, is an expert lecturer on the RTVE Haz project and participates in several university research projects. She writes and collaborates in the publication of books on the audiovisual sector: ¿Qué es eso del formato, Diccionario de Teorías Narrativas, El Entretenimiento en España, Intermedia, among others.

 

Ibán García del Blanco

Ibán García del Blanco was a Member of the European Parliament during the 9th parliamentary term, from July 2019 to July 2024. In his role as coordinator of the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) Group in the European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs, he was, among other things, part of the negotiating team for the Artificial Intelligence Act, rapporteur for the legislative initiative on the ethical aspects of artificial intelligence, robotics and related technologies and for the opinion on the Data Act, and co-rapporteur for the own-initiative report on virtual worlds. As a member of the Committee on Culture and Education, he was rapporteur for the own-initiative report on “Cultural Diversity and Conditions for Authors in the European Streaming Music Market”.

He is a member of the Royal Board of Trustees of the Spanish National Library.

Ibán García del Blanco has a degree in law. As a lawyer, he has specialised in cultural management.

 

Juan Moya

As a director, producer, scriptwriter or editor, I have worked for the most important television channels and production companies on entertainment programmes, fiction series and documentaries, ranging from the true crime genre, such as “Arny, historia de una infamia” or “Yo fui un asesino. El crimen de la catana“, to the musical genre with productions such as “Mi vida entre las hormigas” or the most recent collaboration as editor and co-screenwriter of “Labordeta, un hombre sin más“, winner of the GOYA 2023 for Best Documentary. In the area of fiction, I have co-created and written the series “El Caso, crónica de sucesos“, broadcasted by RTVE.

 

Nerea Sanjuan

Nerea Sanjuan holds a degree in Law from the University of Valladolid and a Master of Law (LL.M.) from Columbia University, New York (Fulbright Grantee), specialising in copyright, entertainment and telecommunications law, as well as international contracts. Nerea also holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and has attended various courses in audiovisual production at the Instituto del Cine in Madrid and the Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon.

Nerea Sanjuan is currently head of the culture, sport and entertainment practice at Andersen. She previously worked at Uría Menéndez, Vodafone and Cuatrecasas in the areas of intellectual property, audiovisual and electronic communications regulation, advertising and consumer affairs. He regularly advises a large number of national and international companies in various sectors of the entertainment, cultural and technology industries. In the academic field, he teaches at the Complutense University of Madrid in the Masters in Law of New Technologies, at ISDE-Pons in the Masters in Industrial and Intellectual Property, Competition and New Technologies, and at ISDE in the Masters in Entertainment Law.

 

Xavier Marchand

Xavier is one of the UK’s leading producers and senior executives with over 30 years of industry experience.

Just prior to setting up Moonriver, Xavier was President of Production at eOne Features. He joined eOne when it acquired the Alliance Films Group that Xavier jointly ran, which included Momentum Pictures, the UK distributor whose growth he engineered over ten years.

He has also held senior executive positions at Polygram Filmed Entertainment, Warner Bros and Universal.

Some of his recent film credits as Producer and/or Executive Producer include Wild Rose (2019), Stan & Ollie (2018), Eye In The Sky (2015); Spotlight (2015), Suite Française (2014); The Woman In Black (2012); Quartet (2012); and The King’s Speech (2010).

Xavier and Moonriver produced the feature film Mrs Harris Goes to Paris (2022).

He has just delivered as the lead Executive producer Nautilus, an epic action- adventure TV series for Disney, based on Jules Verne’s beguiling anti-hero, Captain Nemo, from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. Nautilus will be released by AMC in North America and premium channels internationally.

The series, A Gentleman in Moscow, an adaptation of Amor Towles’ best-selling novel, starring Ewan McGregor has just been released on March 29th, 2024, on Showtime and Paramount + global to great critical acclaim. Xavier Marchand, alongside Tom Harper optioned the rights to the novel and Executive produced the series.

Xavier and Moonriver have several series in development in the US, UK, France and Australia with Sky, Netflix, TF1, France Televisions amongst other.
