Synopsis

The Oderbruch, a former inland delta on the Polish border and the most sparsely populated region of Germany, becomes the scene of a sinister serial killer case. A pile of bodies and bones of more than a hundred murder victims in a barren field. The crimes seem to go back decades. The only thing the victims have in common is that their blood has been drained. There is no trace of the killer.

The investigation leads former policewoman Maggie Kring (Karoline Schuch) and detective Roland Voit (Felix Kramer) back to their former hometown after more than 20 years. Everything seems to be connected to an old case, the mysterious death of Maggie’s brother Kai, who is believed to have drowned in the Oder River flood in 1997. As Voit and his Polish colleague Stanislaw Zajak (Lucas Gregorowicz) scratch the surface of a decades-old conspiracy, Maggie is drawn into her own family’s dark past. And what she discovers will push her beyond the limit of the imagination…
