Can Yaman (Istanbul, November 8, 1989) is a Turkish actor, known for starring in the Turkish series Dolunay, Bay Yanlış and Erkenci Kuş. The latter brought him to fame and won him a Golden Butterfly Award for best romantic comedy actor. Since then he has not stopped adding recognitions to his biography. Other highlights include the international series “El Turco” and the two seasons of the Italian series “Viola come il Mare” produced by Lux Vide and broadcast by Mediaset Italia, which was a great success in the second window on Netflix.
One of the actor’s new projects is Sandokan, an international co-production of Lux Vide in collaboration with Rai Fiction. The series is a new adaptation of the historical saga directed by Jan Maria Michelini and Nicola Abbatangelo. It will be broadcast on Rai1 and distributed worldwide by Fremantle and in our country by Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group. In the new version of Emilio Salgari’s novel, Can Yaman gives life to the adventurous pirate. Curiously, part of the inspiration for Salgari’s historical character was the figure of a man from Cadiz, Carlos Cuarteroni Fernández.

He is also known for his charitable side, especially for his support to the little ones with his charity project ‘Break the Wall Tour’, which takes him to visit places where children and adolescents with problems are cared for. With all this, the Turkish actor will be one of the international stars visiting South in 2024 and will be recognized by the festival with one of the “International Honorary SISF Member Award” that will be presented in this edition.
