Luis Zahera
The honorary award to actor Luis Zahera was presented during the first edition of the South International Series Festival.
Luis Zahera (Santiago de Compostela, 1966) is a Spanish actor, winner of two Goya Awards for Best Supporting Actor for El reino (2018) and As bestas (2022). He became known in Galicia for his role as Petróleo in the series Mareas vivas and made his film debut with Divinas palabras (1987). In his early years, he participated in programs such as Luar and Land Rober.
In 2008, he stood out nationally with his role as Ramón Vega in Sin tetas no hay paraíso and then participated in films such as Celda 211 (2009), La playa de los ahogados (2015), and Que Dios nos perdone (2016). Her first Goya came in 2018 for her performance in El reino. That same year, he starred in the series Vivir sin permiso.
In the following years, he participated in Mientras dure la guerra (2019), Loco por ella (2021), Xtremo (2021) and Entrevías (2022), where he played Ezequiel Fandiño. In As bestas (2022), his role as Xan Anta earned him numerous awards, including his second Goya for best supporting actor. In 2023, he received the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts.
Recently, he participated in the miniseries La última (2022) and in the films Infiesto (2023), Awareness (2023) and Pájaros (2024).
