The honorary award to actress Petra Martínez was presented during the opening gala of the first edition of the South International Series Festival.

Originally from Linares, she is a Spanish actress with an extensive career in theater, film and television. She began her training at Teatro Estudio in Madrid, where she met Juan Margallo, her artistic and personal partner. Throughout her career, she has been a key figure in independent theater and has worked in various collectives and companies.
She began her career in theater with Noche de reyes (directed by William Layton) and later stood out in the group Tábano with plays such as Castañuela 70 and Las madres del cordero. After censorship, Tábano went into exile, taking their theater to Europe and America in the 1970s. They returned to Spain with El retablo del flautista, but it was also censored, so they continued touring France and Germany. Later he participated in collectives such as El Palo, El Búho and El Gayo Vallecano, with whom he worked in Ejercicio para equilibristas (1992).

In 1985 he founded the company Uroc Teatro with Juan Margallo, premiering plays such as La mujer burbuja (1988) and Clasycos (1998). He also directed Objetos perdidos (2003). In cinema, he has been featured in La mala educación (2004), La noche de los girasoles (2006) and La soledad (2008), by Jaime Rosales. In television, he has worked in Teatro de siempre
(1966), Cuentopos (1975), Estudio 1 (1976), Barrio Sésamo (1979-1980), Brigada Central (1989), Ana y los 7 (2002), Herederos (2007-2009), La que se avecina (2014-current) and Sé quién eres (2017).
