South cancels the festive events for the victims of the storm of the DANA and faces its last day with the reading of the Palmarés (Awards)
Last day of screenings of series, previews and chapters, before announcing the winners of the second edition of the South International Series Festival. In spite of the rain and the inclement weather, the Palacio de Congresos de Cádiz has experienced very outstanding moments with the visit, among others, of great actors such as the renowned Can Yaman. However, the day was dressed in mourning for the victims of the passage of the DANA through Valencia, so the purely festive events that remained in South have been canceled. This is the case of the closing red carpet, so the one that took place on Wednesday was the last of the second edition of South. Apart from the Turkish phenomenon, there were also moments to see the premiere of series such as the new bet of Mediaset and Bambú Producción, La Favorita 1922. A story that starts from a drama but that little by little, “enters the light” and turns into “classic comedy with tints of drama”. “A kind of Hollywood comedy of the 40s or 50s”, as the main actress of the series, Verónica Sánchez, commented. It is a series, as Bambú’s CEO, Ramón Campos, has said, that aims at generational transversality, so that the whole family, regardless of age, “can sit down to watch the series”. A series that represents the first work between Mediaset and the production company, with a very young cast of actors and actresses.
The Andalusian accent has also been present with the launching of several proposals for the Sur section. Thus, we highlight two RTVA products, Crimen y Ley, a documentary series about crimes in Andalusia, and the docu-series dedicated to the life of Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart on the occasion of the centenary of her birth, De Alba, la Duquesa de todos. The advances of these proposals were presented in the Auditorium, with the presence of the public who enjoyed a conference on both projects.
South International Series Festival is a private initiative, co-financed by the Feder Andalucía 2021-2027 Program and the Junta de Andalucía, with the City Council of Cádiz and the Diputación de Cádiz as official entities.
