The actor is open to future projects in Spain and acknowledges his happiness for being named International Honorary SISF
Today was marked on the calendar as one of the most relevant moments of the second edition of South International Series that is being held in Cadiz. The arrival of the Turkish soap opera actor Can Yaman has attracted the attention of numerous media and fans who did not want to miss his arrival in Spain to receive the International Honorary SISF Member Award. In conversation with the director of South, the actor has shown his happiness for his arrival in the country, for South, for the opportunities he can find and for being able to practice, saying it in a jocular tone, the Spanish language. The fact is that the protagonist of numerous Turkish series, based in Italy, has finished filming two “colossal projects”, as he himself described them, such as Sandokan and El Turco. He also has his sights set on expanding into other territories, as he is currently working on collaborations with Spain. Regarding the success of audiovisual works in his native country, he commented that “there is a lot of competition and if a series works it is cancelled, that’s why productions have to give the best quality”. In this sense, the actor compared Turkish and Spanish productions, highlighting their similarities “not only because of the hours that are put into each work, but also because of the effort to do things well”.
International fiction and non-fiction
The international series also had a place in this day with Joan, On thin ice: Putin vs. Greenpeace, Dead in the Water. While the first belongs to the fiction section, a work inspired by the life of the most famous jewel thief in the United Kingdom, the other two are part of the non-fiction section. Specifically, the English production tells the story of Greenpeace embarking on a mission to endanger oil drilling in the Arctic and encountering a disproportionate response from the Portuguese authorities.
South International Series Festival is a private initiative, co-financed by the Feder Andalucía 2021-2027 Program and the Junta de Andalucía, with the City Council of Cádiz and the Diputación de Cádiz as official entities.
