The series El Gran Salto, Física o Química and La Agencia present their previews with great public and press interest
The South International Series Festival moves forward with a new day with a high participation of public and accredited press. Thus, the Palacio de Congresos was once again filled with actors, producers, directors and other audiovisual professionals, experiencing moments of great interest for the world of series. One of the major highlights of the day was the premiere of Atresmedia’s new series El Gran Salto. The story of the rise to Olympus and descent from hell of gymnast Gervasio Deferr, narrated “as faithfully as possible”, according to its creators. The actor Óscar Casas, who plays the character known as Gervi, tells how the athlete himself, once he has been able to see the chapters, recognized that it is “the essence of what he felt”. The executive producer, Montse García, has indicated that this work means telling “a very intimate story, without drawing red lines”, so the viewer will be able to see the best and the worst of the life of the two-time Olympic champion. Another of the expected series is the return of Física o Química, with a renewed promotion of the artistic team that has been present in Cádiz. A new batch that has its starting point in Generation Z and that puts on the table the sexual and gender diversity, as well as the role of friendship. The screening of the preview of this series has been produced together with La agencia, another series starring Javier Gutiérrez and Marta Hazas, under the direction of Daniel Écija and produced by Mediaset. As for international works, Matilha, a spinoff from Portugal, was presented. A good-hearted criminal from Lisbon tries to keep her new job and build an honest life with Mafalda, her girlfriend. At the press conference, producer Edgar Medina wanted to show his gratitude to South, because he can strengthen ties with Andalusian production companies to work on future projects.
