The Tribute Award to actor Can Yamán will be presented on Wednesday 30 October, at 20:30, during the premiere of Mediaset España’s “La Favorita 1922”.
Can Yaman (Istanbul, November 8, 1989)1 is a Turkish actor, known for starring in the Turkish series Dolunay, Bay Yanlış and Erkenci Kuş.The latter won him the Golden Butterfly Award for Best Actor in a Romantic Comedy.
And since then he has not stopped adding awards to his biography. Other highlights include the international series “El Turco” and the two seasons of the Italian series “Viola come il Mare” produced by Lux Vide and broadcast by Mediaset Italia, which was a great success in its second window on Netflix.
One of the actor’s new projects is Sandokan, an international co-production by Lux Vide in collaboration with Rai Fiction. The series is a new adaptation of the historical saga directed by Jan Maria Michelini and Nicola Abbatangelo. It will be broadcast on Rai1 and distributed worldwide by Fremantle and in our country by Mediterraneo Mediaset España Group. In the new version of Emilio Salgari’s novel, Can Yaman brings the adventurous pirate to life. Curiously, part of the inspiration Salgari’s historical character was the figure of a man from Cadiz, Carlos Cuarteroni Fernández.
In recent years, the actor’s image has been embraced by major commercial companies and his popularity has grown with his roles in television series recognised by the international industry. He is also known for his charity work, in particular his support for children through his ‘Break the Wall Tour’, which takes him to places where children and young people with problems are cared for. With all this, the Turkish actor will be one of the international stars visiting the South in 2024 and will be honoured by the festival with one of the “International Honorary SISF Member Awards” to be presented at this edition.
