South International Series Festival brings forward one day its official opening and will begin on Friday, October 6 at the Palacio de Congresos de Cádiz. The team is confirming the schedule, which, due to the high demand for participation from production companies and platforms, has had to extend its program by one day.

Andalusia will play a special role in this first edition, both in its programming and in its industry spaces. There will be more than twenty activities featuring the talent and industry of the Andalusian audiovisual sector, with special attention to the series of the future, which are in the pipeline, and to the audiovisual jewels, grouped in the section In the South.

Among the series selected are the docuseries 548 days. Captured by a cult (Olmo Figueredo, José Ortuño, Disney+), the animated series Poor devil (HBO) with art direction by Manuel Sicilia (Rookyn Animation), the fiction production Grease (David Sainz, RTVE Play), the episode of the acclaimed international series Black Mirror, Mazey Dayshot in Andalusia with service by Fresco Films or the webseries From the bottom (Joaquín Perles).

The South International Series Festival is born in a key place for the international production of series, such as Andalusia, where more than 1,300 audiovisual productions are shot every year, generating an economic impact of 118 million euros and more than 19,400 direct jobs, according to data from the Andalusia Film Commission.

In this scenario, the Andalusian audiovisual sector enjoys a privileged moment of economic growth and creative development, thanks to a consolidated industrial fabric, professionals with a long trajectory and a rich and heterogeneous historical and natural background.
