ANDALUSIA, A FILM DESTINATION

Andalusia is an important stage in the history of cinema and the audiovisual industry. Over the last century, the eight Andalusian provinces have been the backdrop for numerous international and national film and television productions, from major blockbusters such as “Star Wars Episode II” and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” to hit series such as “Game of Thrones” and “The Crown”. The diversity of landscapes, rich heritage and professionalism of the Andalusian audiovisual sector are highly valued by production companies.

For those interested in exploring these scenarios firsthand, the film routes can be consulted on the website www.andaluciadestinodecine.com. This tool is essential to practice film tourism in our community, gathering all the necessary information to turn a visit to Andalusia into an experience.

In this context, the South International Series Festival plays a crucial role in consolidating its support to the Andalusian audiovisual industry. In its second edition, the festival reinforces its SUR section with a selection of the best series shot, created and produced in Andalusia. It also features the participation of outstanding professionals such as art director Vanesa de la Haza and localizer Juan Antonio Clemente, who have worked on international blockbusters filmed in Andalusia, such as “Kaos” (Netflix), “La monja guerrera” (Netflix) and “La Peste” (Movistar+).
